Album Artwork: Clean Air by Willi G

During my time in Tasmania I immersed myself deeply into the Hobart music scene, and connected with the beautifully vibrant and grounded community which keeps the Tassie sound alive. One of those talented humans was Willi G, someone I'd been hoping to collaborate with, due to his sound and my art feeling like a pretty harmonious pair. Soon he announced the release of his debut album 'Clean Air' and asked me to do the artwork - an honour. We embarked on the most beautiful creative collaboration I've undergone to date. We wandered through the Tasmanian bush, cups of tea in hand, as we spoke about creative concepts for hours. We spent an entire afternoon looking and listening to his favourite albums on vinyl. We even made soup amongst the gum trees and honed in on the final artwork concept. An album rooted in nature, and artwork created amongst the nature it's inspired by. All illustrations and headings are hand drawn, inner sleeve credits hand written - to mirror the rawness of the Tasmanian landscape and the beauty nestled in its imperfections. Thank you Will, what a special project.
